update and calendar

Parent Update!                                     August 6,2012
We’re off to a great start!  I think we have a fantastic class!  We are spending the week getting to know each other and assessing our existing skills.  You may want to ask your child about the “Alphabet Action” song, “The Kissing Hand “story, and his/her shapely self portrait.
I have received a few emails from parents confirming their subscription to our class blog through Feedburner.   I’m looking forward to having everyone on board with that so that we can do most of our communication electronically.  Let me know when you have subscribed.
Today, you will notice a calendar for August in your child’s FROG notebook.  We will celebrate two birthdays this month!  Jacob 8/9 and Abbie 8/15.  Our specials schedule will begin on 8/20.
We will start our Show and Tell time this Friday!  It’s such a fun way to get to know each other.  It would be great if you could help your child choose something that helps us get to know him/her like a picture of your family or a favorite pet.  It might be their favorite stuffed animal, part of a special collection or even memorabilia from a travel experience or a favorite sport.  The point is to help them find something to bring that is unique to them, not just the most recent toy that they acquired.
Our class will celebrate with four parties this year - Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and an End of Year party.  Please let me know by email or a FROG note if you would like to volunteer to help coordinate any of these parties.  Also, please indicate if you have a preference for any of them in particular.
Thanks so much for letting me have the privilege of working with your child!  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
